On December 25, the opening report meeting ofResearch on the New Kinetic Mechanism of Big Data Under the Network Environment,a major research project of philosophy and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, was held online. This project mainly focuses on digital technology such as network big data and artificial intelligence based on network big data, and takes it as an emerging kinetic energy to drive the upgrading and transformation of new models and new formats.

More than 30 people attended the meeting, including the Chief Expert of the project, Professor Jiang Wu at the School of Information Management of Wuhan University and the people in charge of five sub-projects as followings:

Professor Xiaoguang Wang and Professor Shengli Deng at the School of Information Management of Wuhan University,

Professor Baojun Gao at the Economics and Management School of Wuhan University,

Professor Xun Liang at the School of Information of Renmin University of China,

and Professor Bin Hu of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

Falin Zhang, Associate Dean of the Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences of Wuhan University, and Wei Lu, Dean of the School of Information Management of Wuhan University, delivered speeches respectively.

Jiang Wu made a report on the project plan from six aspects: research background, value of the research, logical relationship of the framework and the expected goal, research ideas and methods, key and difficult problems and innovation, the overall design and implementation of the research.

The experts at the meeting put forward constructive suggestions on the key issues of the research as followings:

Zhiyun Zhao, CPC Secretary of Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, believed that the project could analyze a complex problem layer by layer, refine it to each specific application scenario from the perspective of Internet enterprises in a broad sense, and focus on solving the problem of new kinetic energy mechanism, which was expected to form a landmark research result.

Professor Qi Li, Director of E-commerce Research Institute of Xi'an Jiaotong University, suggested that the scope of research should be appropriately broadened, and the cause and effect and correlation mechanism of big data empowerment should be deeply explored from two aspects, which were management change and economic change driven by network big data.

Professor Jinlong Zhang, Director of the E-commerce Center of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, pointed out that the next step of research should be application-oriented. According to different situations and different types of enterprises, research should be conducted to explore the transformation degree, transformation elements and driving incentives of the new and old kinetic energy.

Professor Changyong Liang at the School of Management of Hefei University of Technology, proposed that the transformation from the old to new kinetic energy of big data should be clearly defined. The new kinetic energy is not to exclude the original production factors, but to upgrade and transform the original production factors.

Professor Jianjun Sun, Dean of the School of Information Management, Nanjing University,

suggested that efforts should be made to solve the problem of quantitatively describing the new kinetic energy of network big data, reflect the differences and differentiation between the new kinetic energy and the old kinetic energy, and help Internet enterprises reflect the value of big data.

Professor Yaobin Lu, Associate Dean of the School of Management of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, from the perspective of Internet ecology and enterprise, put forward the thinking of how the project could empower the enterprise. He stressed that the project team should focus on the efficiency improvement of traditional manufacturing enterprises.

Professor Xiangbin Yan, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Beijing University of Science and Technology, believed that big data exists in the network environment. No matter what type of enterprises have big data, the direction of project research should be cleared about under which specific conditions to implement and clarify the application direction.

Professor Gang Li, Director of the Center for Studies of Information Resources, Wuhan University pointed out that project research should focus more on the real economy and industry to make greater contributions to the development of the national economy.
