In order to meet the current needs of new liberal arts construction and media convergence development, and promote the talent training and discipline development of publishing graduate students, the High-end Consultation Meeting of Wuhan University on Publishing Postgraduate Training and Discipline Construction was held virtually on November 29.

She expressed her welcome and thanks to the leaders, experts and scholars attending the meeting, and hoped that industry, university and research institute could learn from each other, get more improvement, and jointly seek development opportunities. Jie Xu, Director of the Department of Publishing Science of our university, introduced the cultivation and discipline construction of publishing science graduate students in our university from six aspects: discipline evolution and scale, teachers and talents, undergraduate specialty construction, teaching and research platform, postgraduate training and future planning.

Nian Xie gave some suggestions on the cultivation of postgraduates majoring in publishing from six dimensions: the background of the times, social responsibility, cultural feelings, research attitude, open consciousness and benefit orientation. Xiaoxin Huang believed that the cultivation of postgraduates majoring in publishing science should not only be connected with the "antenna", aim at the major strategic needs of the Party and the state, but also be connected with the "ground gas", aim at the development of the industry, and pay attention to problems and demand orientation. Xinzhou Xie introduced his own experience and thinking from the aspects of training objectives, teaching content and curriculum system. Xiaochuan Lian introduced the changes of the publishing industry in the United States under the impact of the epidemic, providing reference for the development of China's publishing industry and personnel training; Zhiqiang Zhang suggested that we should strengthen enrollment publicity, strengthen university-enterprise cooperation, build publishing research centers, think tanks, and etc., and cultivate high-end applied talents for the publishing industry under the media convergence. He Lei put forward that the students of publishing major should have the qualities of vision, professional ability, moral character and temperament when they go to the society. Yuming Feng put forward some suggestions to optimize the training of publishing talents from the perspectives of traditional publishing organization, pan content industry, general education in university and personnel training process.
