On the afternoon of September 23, the School held a meeting for the 2022-2023 first semester postgraduate education work. All department deputy directors in charge of postgraduate work and department directors attended the meeting.Xiaoguang Wang, Associate Dean of the SIM,Wuhan University, presided over the meeting.

Xiaoguang Wangconveyed the key work of postgraduate education in the new semester. He pointed out that the postgraduate work of the School should highlight the key points and build a new concept of quality and risk; We should adhere to the principle of taking students as the core, pay attention to details and ensure safe and stability; It is necessary to strengthen the formulation and implementation of related policies and rules, and further improve management measures such as tutor post assessment.

The participating teachers had a discussion on how to further improve the quality of degree conferment, and how to pay attention to enrollment, training, teaching and degree management in the whole process. Everyone agreed that it was necessary to further strengthen the sense of responsibility, implement the system of the tutor as the chief responsible person for postgraduate education and carry out individualized direction according to students' needs. The participating teachers also put forward some opinions and suggestions on the details and process of defense management, degree application process management, internship management, qualification articles, etc.

The meeting also discussed and arranged the recent postgraduate enrollment and education as followings:

Firstly, do a solid work in 2023 outstanding fresh graduates’ examination-free postgraduate study, and make overall plans for three types of students, namely, pre-sign up of examination-free qualification, excellent summer campers, and formal sign up of examination-free qualification, ensure the smooth and orderly work while improving the quality of students;

Secondly, carry out the 2022-2023 academic year mid-term assessment of academic degree postgraduates, and the qualification assessment and selection of postgraduate-doctoral students;

Thirdly, the departments should pay close attention to the international students, especially strengthen the direction of international students’ dissertations, and constantly improve the education quality;

Fourthly, plan and organize the 2022 SIM Tutors Meeting, further study the relevant policies and rules of the School, Wuhan University and the Ministry of Education, get familiar with the whole process of postgraduate guidance, and share experiences and innovative measures in postgraduate education;

Fifthly, carefully organize the Third SIM Exhibition of Postgraduate Academic Research Achievements, and further create a strong atmosphere of academic innovation.
