On the afternoon of May 25, Yongjun Zhang and his team visited the Center for Studies of Information Resources, and the Smart City Research Center of Wuhan University.Yongjun Zhangis member of the Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administration Committee of Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Hainan Province.

Gang Li introduced the research progress of the Center for Studies of Information Resources, Wuhan University in the fields of smart city security, construction and utilization of big data resources. Gang Li also said that Yangpu Economic Development Zone, as the construction vanguard of Hainan Free Trade Port, should give full play to the leading role of digital construction. He expected that both sides would reach consensus and carry out in-depth cooperation in smart city construction, scientific and technological service innovation, etc.

Yongjun Zhang fully affirmed the gratifying achievements made bythe Center for Studies of Information Resources and the SIMin scientific research and personnel training, and gave a comprehensive introduction to the development history and reform and opening up ofYangpu Economic Development Zone andDanzhou City. He pointed out that Yangpu and Danzhou still has shortcomings in smart city construction and industrial informatization, and hoped that both sides would foster innovation breakthroughs in scientific research, industrial R&D and consulting services, and form a close cooperative relationship.

Jiang Wu introduced the discipline development of the SIM, and pointed out that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the School will focus on the urgent need of national strategy, give full play to its discipline advantages, and take effective measures to encourage teachers to promote the transformation of scientific research achievements and strengthen the cooperation between government and enterprises.

Yikun Xia and Ping Wang respectively put forward constructive suggestions on the digital empowerment for government services and social governance.

Nengwei Yao demonstrated the practical application of smart city construction in cooperation with the Center for Studies of Information Resources in the fields of IoT perception, multimodal data fusion and cognitive computing.

At the meeting, leaders of Yangpu/Danzhou Development and Reform Commission, Investment Promotion Bureau and other relevant government departments actively discussed and exchanged with scholars ofthe Center for Studies of Information Resourceson the cooperation of smart city construction, and reached a consensus of cooperation.
