On the afternoon of May 12, Hubei Provincial Archives leaders visited the SIM for investigation and research.

Ping Wu extended a warm welcome to Zhongchu Liu and his team, and expressed her heartfelt thanks to Hubei Provincial Archives for its guidance and support to the construction of Wuhan University Archives and the development of Archives discipline. She pointed out that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the development of Archives discipline and archival undertakings are faced with new opportunities and challenges. She hoped that Hubei Provincial Archives and Wuhan University could cooperate and develop together in discipline construction, personnel training, scientific and technological innovation, etc.

Ping Wang, Director of the Department of Archives and Government Information Studies, introduced the Archives discipline construction and personnel training in our school from the aspects of discipline evolution, teaching staff, scientific research, education and future planning.

Zhongchu Liu expressed his gratitude to the SIM and Wuhan University for the reception, hoping to strengthen the exchange of collection resources and business exchanges between Hubei Provincial Archives and Wuhan University Archives in the future. At the same time, he hoped to strengthen cooperation with the SIM, taking the co-construction of Intelligent Archives Laboratory as the starting point, on the one hand, to make use of the resource advantages of Hubei Provincial Archives to help the SIM’s Archives discipline construction and personnel training, on the other hand, to make use of the brain resources of the SIM Archives discipline to promote the progress of archival science and technology, the planning of Archives Science and Technology Park and Cultural Park, and the construction of journals in Hubei Provincial Archives, so as to promote the high-quality development of archival undertakings in the whole province.

Participants had an in-depth exchange on how to promote cooperation in theoretical innovation, technical empowerment, incubation of achievements, etc., and put forward a cooperative idea of establishing a virtuous circle of Industry-University-Research. Both sides will further make every effort to promote the implementation of cooperative projects, and jointly promote the high-level construction of Archival discipline and the high-quality development of archival undertakings during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
