Recently, Wuhan University published the list of advanced groups and individuals in the 2021 China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series Contests. Our school was awarded the advanced group, which was one of the seven award-winning organizations of Wuhan University, and the only award-winning organization of humanities and social sciences schools. Miaomiao Chen, Ran Sun and Qishun Mei, graduate students of our school, won advanced individuals.

In 2021, graduate students of our school have great achievements in many contests. In the "Huawei Cup" the 18th China Postgraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling, Miaomiao Chen (team leader) and Ran Sun won the first prize, and Qishun Mei won the second prize, which achieved the best results in the SIM’s history of this contest. Zhoucan Xu and Zhonglu Shi’s team won the provincial gold medal and national silver medal of the 7th China International College Students' "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Ruolan Liu won the third prize in the National College Students' Mathematics Contest. Jiani Huang, Daoyu Lei, Zi Xiong and Lei Hu won the third prize in the Universities and Colleges Track, and the second prize in the Professional Track of the 2021 Wuhan City Circle Open Data Innovation and Application Contest. Guoye Sun won the first prize in the EPS DATA Platform Retrieval Challenge. Many graduate students have made great achievements in many contests such as the National Library and Information Innovation Case Competition and the 6th Shanghai Library Open Data Competition.

All along, our school has strongly supported and encouraged graduate students to participate in academic and technological innovation and discipline competitions. The school revised the detailed implementation rules for postgraduate scholarship selection criteria, and adjusted the identification rules for academic innovation and discipline competition results; Formulate the management measures of SIM academic, scientific and technological innovation and discipline competition, and encourage graduate students to actively participate in innovation, entrepreneurship and discipline competition; Organize and encourage professional teachers and postgraduates to team up and participate in scientific and technological competitions in combination with research projects, and promote the transformation of scientific research and practical research results into projects for contests. Our school was awarded the advanced group, which was not only an affirmation of our breakthrough in the series of innovation and practice competitions, but also a reflection of our school’s running level and educational effectiveness.
