On the afternoon of February 17, the SIM held a general meeting to arrange the work in 2022. The faculty and staff of the whole school attended the meeting.

Wei Lu, Dean of the SIM, reviewed the main achievements of the school in 2021, conveyed the spirit of the 2022 Work Seminar of Wuhan University, arranged the key work of the school in 2022, and announced the forthcoming ten major events that would be focused on in 2022.

“To build a peak on the plateau, and we should adhere to the road of high-quality connotation development.” Wei Lu said that, in 2021, all the achievements of the school were the result of all the SIMers’ perseverance and hard work. In 2022, the school would focus on the "four orientations", target the international highland, aim at the national demand, adhere to integrity and innovation, and strive to move from "first-class" to "leading". Specifically, the school would concentrate its efforts on comprehensively and strictly administering the Party, consolidating interdisciplinary specialties, improving the high-quality personnel training system, promoting the strategy of "strengthening the school with talents", implementing the incentive mechanism of high-level scientific research achievements, providing high-quality social services and support.

Wei Lu emphasized that the faculty and staff of the whole school should earnestly enhance the sense of urgency and the sense of responsibility and mission of "I am Wuhan University", integrate oneself into the education undertakings of Wuhan University, and be determined to pursue excellence, perform duties and responsibilities in the new year, work together and pay close attention to implementation, so as to promote the sound and rapid development of the school.

Xingrong Fu, CPC Secretary of the SIM, presided over the meeting and made a conclusion. He gave a briefing on the democratic life meeting of the leaders of the school, and focused on the work of teachers' morality and ideology, talent introduction and training, project application and evaluation, and research fund management.

Xingrong Fu pointed out that the school is in a new period of comprehensive construction of the 14th Five-Year Plan and a new round of world-class discipline construction. The faculty and staff of the whole school should stick to the red line consciousness and bottom line thinking of ideology in their study and work, and insist that there is no forbidden zone in academic research, strict discipline in classroom teaching and requirements for public publication. We should firmly establish the idea of be diligent and thrifty in our work, carry forward the spirit of hard work, diligence and thrift, further enhance the awareness of compliance and discipline, optimize the allocation of funds, and manage and make good use of research funds. Don't forget the initial intention, keep in mind the mission, unite as one, forge ahead, and greet the opening of Party's 20th Congress with excellent performance!
