On December 2,the National Press and Publication Administration publishedthe List of2021 Demonstration Projects of Technology and Standard Innovation in Publishing Industry. Theproject Key Theories and Technologies of Semantic Organization and Intelligent Reading of Publishing Resources was successfully selected. The project isled by Qing Fang, Professor at the SIM, Wuhan University, and Director of the Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service.

Theproject Key Theories and Technologies of Semantic Organization and Intelligent Reading of Publishing Resources focuses on intelligent reading, which is the key driving force of intelligent demand of publishing industry, and aims at better meeting the cultural needs of users for acquisition, understanding, production, dissemination and consumption of various digital content resources. The project focuses on the core content resources in the publishing field, with the help of advanced intelligent technologies such as deep learning, natural language processing, knowledge map, virtual reality, etc., digitized, semantically and intelligently process multi-source heterogeneous and multi-modal resources, and formed a set of intelligent data and semantic publishing framework processes and labeling specifications for semantic organization and content reorganization of various publishing resources such as scientific and technological literature and cultural heritage data.

In the early stage of the project, many national major projects were completed, and many representative embedded services and products were formed in the fields of digital education, cultural heritage and academic publishing. Up to now, nearly 100 related items of academic papers, software copyrights and invention patents have been published. In 2021, 1 academic monograph was published, 4 software copyrights were registered, 1 technical invention patent, A device for deploying edge cloud nodes in edge cloud computing service system with patent reference No. 201910607997.X, was granted, and 6 academic papers were published in core journals.

Demonstration Projects of Technology and Standard Innovation in Publishing of the National Press and Publication Administrationaims to give full play to the supporting role of technology and standards in the high-quality development of publishing industry, strengthen demonstration and guidance, and promote the transformation of research achievements. In 2021, a total of 27 projects were in the list nationwide, including 10 scientific and technological innovation achievements, 10 scientific and technological application demonstration organizations, 3 standard innovation achievements and 4 standard application demonstration organizations.
