One year after being the Chair-elect of the Special Interest Group on Knowledge Management (SIG-KM), Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), Lu An, Professor at the SIM, Wuhan University, officially became the chairwoman of SIG-KM.
Professor Lu An has been engaged in the research of visualized knowledge discovery and network data analysis for a long time. She has been committed to applying the theory and method of information science such as knowledge organization to the research and practice of management problems, so as to meet significant demands of society. She serves as Director of International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO),Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Knowledge Organization, Deputy Director of the Information Theory, Methods and Education and Training Committee of China Science and Technology Information Society, Director of China Information Economics Society,member ofthe Artificial Society Committee of China Simulation Society,Director of Information Society of Hubei Province,and has a certain influence in library and information science community at home and abroad.
ASIS&T was established in the United States in 1937. After more than 80 years development, it has gathered scholars and researchers from various fields such as library science, information science, computer science, data science, etc. It is one of the most influential international academic organizations in the field of library and information science in the world. SIG-KM is one of the 15 Special Interest Groups under ASIS&T, which is dedicated to promoting the academic, educational and practical exploration of the members of the Association in the field of knowledge management, so as to promote knowledge innovation and learning. In 2021, SIG-KM won the 2021 Best Publication Award of the Special Interest Groups issued by ASIS&T.
