On June 24, under the leadership of Yiming Zhao, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Management Science and tutor of Class 1, and Jin Mao, tutor of Class 2, the undergraduates of 2019 Information Management and Information System went to the National Technical Standard Innovation Base (China Optics Valley) and Optics Valley Exhibition Center to carry out visiting and learning.

The staff of the National Technical Standard Innovation Base (China Optics Valley) warmly welcomed the visiting students, introduced the basic situation of the construction foundation and research direction of the innovation base in detail, and expounded the innovation concept, service path and reform and innovation achievements in many fields of the base. Ms. Huajing Li, a staff of the base said that only by adhering to the new development concept and building a regional brand of comprehensive standardized services could we continue to promote the progress of the standard system and comprehensive services.

Subsequently, the staff played the introduction video of the base to help students better understand the working mode of standard construction. In the interactive session, the students put forward their questions on the content of the speech, and the base teacher answered everyone's questions one by one. Yiming Zhao also inspired students with the help of relevant contents, which led to the students' thinking about the relationship between standards and their major. After leaving the report hall, the students visited the exhibition hall of the base, and explored the National Technical Standard Innovation Base (China Optics Valley) and Hubei Institute of Standardization and Quality.

In the Optics Valley Exhibition Center, students watched the panoramic introduction video of Wuhan Optics Valley in the exhibition hall, and learned about the planning and latest development of the independent innovation demonstration zone. Then, in the explanation of the staff, they appreciated the development process, innovation and entrepreneurship achievements and core frontier achievements of Optics Valley’s science and technology innovation industry in the past 40 years. The Optics Valley mode is the only way for the development of optoelectronic information, biomedical, modern services, high-end equipment, energy conservation and environmental protection industries, as well as the inevitable choice for China to develop high technology to the world.

Through participating in this professional cognitive practice, the students have gained a lot and benefited a lot. They expressed that they should keep in mind the harvest of this activity, put what they have learned today into action, base on the present, look forward to the future, get better development and achieve their own glory.
