On the afternoon of March 30, Quan Rao, Director of the National Library of China, Ruijuan Huo, Office Director of the National Library of China, Boyang Sun, Director of the Legal Office, Qiang Xie, Director of the Digital Resources Department, Wei Zhang, Associate Dean of Research Institute, visited our school. Ping Wu, Vice President of Wuhan University, Qing Fang, Dean of the Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dan Wu, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Office of Undergraduate College of Wuhan University,Xingrong Fu, CPC Secretary of the School of Information Management, Wei Lu, Dean of the School of Information Management and otherleaders of our school, as well as representatives of teachers from the Department of Library Science, attended the exchange meeting. Xingrong Fu presided over the meeting.

Wei Lu introduced our school from the aspects of general situation, discipline construction, teaching staff, scientific research, international exchange and social service, and reported on the achievements of the library and university cooperation projects in recent years. Congjing Ran, Director of Department of Library Science, introduced the overall situation of the Department of Library Science, and put forward cooperation suggestions from the aspects of joint training of high-end talents, collaborative construction of smart library, co-creation of reference platform, library and department cooperation in think tank construction, joint construction of science and technology services, and cooperative construction of innovation platform.

Quan Rao said that the School of Information Management of Wuhan University has made great achievements in personnel training, scientific research and social services, and has made outstanding contributions to China's library cause. He pointed out that at present, the development of library cause and library discipline in China is facing great development opportunities. The library cause and library discipline should be guided by General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important exposition on the positioning and role of libraries, and seize opportunities and achieve higher quality development in the process of promoting the building of a socialist cultural power. Quan Rao hoped that the School of Information Management could contribute more wisdom and strength to the transformation and development of China’s libraries and the construction of smart library system.
