Recently, CYLC Hubei Provincial Committee published the winner list of 2022 Hubei Provincial Aspiring Youth.Shanping He,a 2018-grade undergraduate majors in Library Science of our school, was in the list. He was also the only student winner recommended by Wuhan University.

Shanping He is from a poor family in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. He was admitted to Wuhan University after the college entrance examination. During his study, Shanping He was from the last admission of national special program to the first GPA in his major. Shanping He was once honored as the Self-improvement Stars of Chinese College Students, Excellent Student of Tsang Hin Chi Scholarship, Excellent Graduate of Wuhan University, etc. His story was reported in the theme exhibition Promising and Fearless of New Youth in the New Era, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League sponsored by China Youth Daily.

Appreciating the precised poverty alleviation and admission policies of the Party and the state, Shanping He is self-reliant, actively pursues all-round development, and is devoted to his dedication. He participated in volunteer service for many times, and donated all his scholarship, including Self-improvement Star scholarship ¥3,000 and Outstanding Student First-class Scholarship ¥3,000, for flood fighting in Henan and Shanxi province. He also assisted his village committee in carrying out vaccination statistics and publicity during vacations. Shanping He’s behavior explains the era connotation of respecting morality and keeping promises.

Since the election campaign of 2022 Hubei Provincial Aspiring Youth was launched, it has been widely concerned by the public. The young people in the winner list come from all walks of life in Hubei province, covering members of youth social organizations, young people in emerging industries, young workers, leading roles in getting rich of rural area, young entrepreneurs, young science and technology workers, young students, young teachers, young doctors, young officers and soldiers, young policemen, young volunteers and other professions and industries, and have a wide range of masses and representatives. A total of 559 people were recommended by organizations at all levels in Hubei province, and finally 107 people were selected, and 3 people were recommended by Wuhan University.
