On April 18, at the opening ceremony of the First Campus Reading Festival of Sanjiang Town Central Primary School, Jingyan County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, Zhuoran Yang, a member of Wuhan University Postgraduate Education-assisting Group, and a 2021-grade undergraduate graduate of our school, read a letter from Luojia Hill with deep affection.

On the occasion of the 27th World Reading Day, the Party Branch of Undergraduate Library Science in our school, the Leshan Branch of the Wuhan University Postgraduate Education-assisting Group and Sanjiang Town Central Primary School, Jingyan County, Leshan City, launched the reading promotion activity of Holding Hands and Loving Reading Together.

Since February this year, in order to solve the problems found in the previous investigation that the collection of books in rural primary school libraries (rooms) is not age-appropriate and the utilization rate is not high, the Party Branch of Undergraduate Library Science decided to give full play to their professional advantages and design a high-quality children's book list with distinctive themes, age-appropriate contents and rich types for rural primary school libraries (rooms). With 15 Party groups in the Branch as the unit, through the initial determination of the Party groups, the group discussion in the Branch meeting and other forms, under the guidance of professional teachers of the Library Department, and after many times of modification, theRecommendation List of Sanjiang Children's Graded Reading (100 Books)was finally determined. With the support of Wuhan University Youth League Committee, the members of Leshan Branch of the Wuhan University Postgraduate Education-assisting Group sorted out the existing collections of Sanjiang Town Central Primary School Library and purchased new books in accordance with theRecommendation List, and set up a brand-new Sanjiang Town Central Primary School Library, which was opened for use in early April. In order to encourage children to like reading, the Party Branch of Undergraduate Library Science also wrote a letter, which told about the original intention of book selection and expressed the care and expectation for children by taking the Party group as unit.

TheRecommendation List of Sanjiang Children's Graded Reading (100 Books)includes some required reading lists for primary and secondary school students recommended by the Ministry of Education, world-famous children's books, works of award-winning writers such as Hans Christian Andersen Literature Award, new books of famous children's book exhibitions at home and abroad, and the most popular children's books in some public libraries.

Sanjiang Town Central Primary School Library has been very popular among pupils since its opening. Relying on the Library, members of the Leshan Branch of the Wuhan University Postgraduate Education-assisting Group also planned and carried out activities such as accompany reading at noon, book knowledge exhibition and reading instruction class.
