Recently, the evaluation results of the 7th Excellent College Students Award Program of Tsang Hin Chi Education Foundation were published. Shanping He, a 2018 undergraduate student of Library Science in our School, was awarded the title ofExcellent Student ofTsang Hin ChiScholarship.Shanping He was the only one won this honor in Wuhan University.

Shanping He is from a poor family in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. He was admitted to Wuhan University after the college entrance examination. During his study, Shanping He was from the last admission of national special program to the first GPA in his major. As a student, he tempered his innovative ability in high-level international conferences and educational forums of Library and Information Science, participated in entrepreneurial teams to improve his entrepreneurial skills in campus e-commerce projects, and has been growing during cultural research and professional practice. As backbone of the students, he served the youth wholeheartedly while serving as the deputy director (student) of the League Construction Guidance Center of Wuhan University Youth League Committee, deputy secretary (student) of Wuhan University Youth League Committee and the secretary of the league branch. During his tenure, his unit won many honor and awards, such as the 2020 Wuhan University May 4th Red Flag Youth League Committee (5 in Wuhan University), Wuhan University May 4th Red Flag Youth League Branch (10 in Wuhan University), and Wuhan University Advanced Class (10 in Wuhan University). As a volunteer, he practiced the initial mission of Party members in his hometown epidemic prevention work; donated all his scholarship, including "Self Improvement Star" scholarship¥3,000 and Outstanding Student First-class Scholarship¥3,000, for flood fighting in Henan and Shanxi province; and participated in the public welfare project of left-behind children and finless porpoise protection.

Since 2000, the Ministry of Education has cooperated with Tsang Hin Chi Education Foundation to implement the Excellent College Students Award Program in mainland universities and colleges. A total of 1,140 students from 38 universities and colleges were awarded the Tsang Hin Chi Scholarship in the 7th Excellent College Students Award Program, among which 38 students won the honor ofExcellent Students.
