On the afternoon of November 18, a practical activity with the theme ofGoing to the Grass-Roots Level, Observing People's Situation, Solving People's Worries, and Warming People's Hearts, organized by the SIM Graduate Student Union and the SIM Student Union was held in the meeting room No. 205 of the SIM Building.

Xingrong Fu, CPC Secretary of the SIM, Wuhan University,Wei Lu, Dean of the SIM, Wuhan University, and other leaders of the School, heads of departments and offices, counselors and representatives of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students attended the event.Yunhe Yang, member of the Presidium of the SIM Student Union, presided over this event.

The representatives of undergraduate students mainly raised questions on course selection, graduationissuesand psychological counseling.

Ziqi Zhou,Jiaqi ZhangandShenshen Qinput forward some issues such as earlier notice of important matters, e.g. graduation thesis, increase the headcount of specialized courses, and connecting of courses.

Ruoyang Lisuggested that the School should plan more activities and events in psychological counseling so as to attract more students to participate in it.

Yujie DuanandZe Wangput forward the issues of insufficient laboratory equipment and the placement of printers.

The representatives ofpostgraduatesmainly raised questions on academic research, employment and safety.

Yeping LiuandYuexin Shiput forward the demand for field research, industry investigation, and seminars and workshops of academic research experience sharing.

Mingyue Huput forward the hope that the School should increase the frequency of elevator maintenance and other measures to ensure the safety of teachers and students.

Moreover, some student representatives suggested that the School extend the opening hours of the School Library, and set up more booths for job interview.

In response to the demands of the students, the leaders and teachers made targeted answers. They expressed that on the basis of confirming the specific needs of the students, they would focus on the opinions put forward by the representatives, update and improve the course selection and teaching mechanism, graduationissuesand the facilities of theSchool,and try their best to meet students' study and living needs, so as to provide better services and guarantees for the growth and development of the SIM students.
