On April 22, the Selection Meeting of 2021 Wuhan University May 4th Red Flag Youth League Branch was held. After application review, presentation and defense, the Youth League Branch of 2018-grade Library Science Class 2 of our school was awarded the title of 2021 Wuhan University May 4th Red Flag Youth League Branch with the first total evaluation result of Wuhan University.

Since its establishment in May, 2019, under the guidance of the leadership of the SIM Party Committee and the SIM Communist Youth League Committee, the Youth League Branch of 2018-grade Library Science Class 2 has taken ideological guidance as the core, organizational construction as the foundation, and serving the youth as the purpose, uniting and leading all the youth members to strive for a strong country.

In the aspect of young people's thoughts leading, there are 16 Party members, 26 League members, and 2 students of the Marxist Youth Training Class. In 2021, the Branch continued to strengthen the theoretical armed forces of Youth League members, giving full play to the leading role of "Party and League Secretary", fully stimulating the energy of Party building and League building, and carrying out study and education practice activities 16 times with Party Day and characteristic League activities as platform. To undertake the SIM Story Telling Contest of the Party History, with 150 young students participating.

In the aspect of organization construction, the 4 members of the Communist Youth League Branch are Party members, and there are 7 League groups. The group leaders communicate in time, and the members in the groups help each other, the organization construction covers each member. Strictly implement the basic system of League meeting, and be rated as Five-star League Branch. Always adhere to the integration of class and League, with the class monitor as the deputy secretary of the Branch and the class committee as the leader of the League group, and actively carry out cross-grade and cross-professional activities, which received positive feedback.

In the aspect of service, focusing on the needs of professional learning, growth and development, the Branch establishes a normalized growth consultation service mechanism, gives full play to the role of class tutors, and normalizes safety, scientific research, further education and job search guidance. The class committee and the Branch committee work closely together to carry out professional cognitive practice and hold mental health themed class meetings to help ease the pressure of study, employment and social communication and create a warm and healthy atmosphere.

In the aspect of fulfill youth's mission, in social practice, observe the national conditions and social conditions from the perspective of youth, and help rural revitalization with professional ability. Relevant practical deeds have been reported by Guangming Daily and other media, and won the honor of Hubei Province Excellent Practice Team, the special prize of Wuhan University Practice Style Contest, and the special prize of Wuhan University Summer Practice Achievement. 100% of the Branch members are registered volunteers, with a total annual volunteer service time of 467 hours. 15 members were awarded Wuhan University Excellent Volunteers. Members of the Branch glow in the social work, including members of the Presidium of Wuhan University Student Union and SIM Student Union, deputy secretary-general of Wuhan University, and heads of students’ public welfare society.

In the aspect of achievements, the Branch has successively won the honors of Wuhan University Advanced League Branch, and its members won the national silver and bronze prizes in the China International College Students' "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, which have been the best achievement in the SIM’s history and the best achievements of Wuhan University’s Red Track. The Branch members published 8 academic papers, and participated in the compilation work of 2 academic books. 12 members have participated in the research projects of SIM tutors. Star members are outstanding. Wei Feng was awarded the Self-improvement Stars of Chinese College Students and Wuhan University Role Model of the Year. Jiahe Huang participated in National Art Exhibition Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up on behalf of Wuhan University, and was honored as Advanced Individual. Wenjun Huang led his dormitory and was awarded the 2021 Wuhan University Dormitory Model.
