To furthermotivateacademicresearch ambitions ofSIMgraduate students, guide high-quality development ofpostgraduate education, promote discipline exchange and build an academic exchange platform for graduate students, on the afternoon of November 18, the Flash Report Day of the Third SIM Exhibition of Graduate Students' Academic Research Achievements was held in the lecture hall No. 212.

The Flash Report Day was organized by the School, and co-organized by the SIM Graduate Student Union. People attended the event were as followings:

Wei Lu, Dean of the SIM, Wuhan University,

Yaolin Jiang, CPC Deputy Secretary of the SIM, Wuhan University,

Xiaoguang Wang, Associate Dean of the SIM,Wuhan University,

and teachers from the SIM Postgraduate Education Office and the SIM Postgraduate Management Office attended the event.

Xiaofan Guo, a graduate student, presided over the event.

InXiaoguang Wang’sspeech, he pointed out that graduate students were a new force in academic research and shoulder the important mission of scientific and technological innovation. It was also an important mission of postgraduate education to have a strong academic research ability. Holding events, such as exhibitions of academic research achievements, and academic flash reports would help topromoteacademic exchanges, enlighten academic thinking and improve academic research ability. In academic exchanges and ideological collisions, graduate students would be encouraged to think about how to further focus on national strategic needs and major issues of economic and social development, and write their papers on the motherland.

Eight authors who wereonsiteshared their research results. Their research involved a variety of fields, such as data governance, intelligent computing of cultural heritage, multi-modal information fusion, academic reputation evaluation, and archive service, which fully demonstrated the broad research vision and good academic research literacy of the SIM students.

Ten authors participated virtually shared their research results, which included the evolution of topics, early warning of financial risk, named entity disambiguation, simulation confrontation, multi-dimensional social robots and others.

The onsite students also interacted with the authors who participated virtually. The collision of thoughts inspired the students to generate more academic research idea. The wonderful presentation benefited the students a lot.

At the end of the Flash Report Day,Xiaoguang Wangconcluded that the School should focus on promoting the high-quality development of postgraduate education, helping graduate students improve their academic research and innovation ability, and producing more outstanding scientific research achievements. He also hoped that students would put forward suggestions on how to further improve postgraduate academic exchange activities, and contribute wisdom and strength to building an exchange platform for graduate students. The School should also listen carefully to the suggestions of graduate students, further enrich the forms of academic research activities, and create a better academic research environment and atmosphere for students.
