In order to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and guide students to develop in an all-round way, scientifically and with characteristics, from November to December, 2021, the SIM held the 2021 Stars of the School of Information Management selection for undergraduates and postgraduates, providing a platform for SIM students who have made outstanding achievements in innovation and entrepreneurship, practical service, ideology and morality, campus culture, study and research, etc.

After the primary election and defense, eight students and two teams were awarded the honorary title of2021Stars of the School of Information Management. The eight students were Zhe Cao, Lihong Yu, Yunchang Zhu, Ziqi Zhou, Shanyi Zhu, Yuyue Zhuang, Yinuo Zhou and Yiqiang Li. The two teams were Rural Jolly Meet Team and SIM Debate Team.

Zhe Cao took part in many innovation and entrepreneurship projects and won awards with the love of home, country and the world, and fully transformed what she learned from her major into innovative practice.

Lihong Yu is enthusiastic and responsible for all-round development in professional study, volunteer service and project design, taking into account both on-campus and off-campus activities, and illuminating others with her contribution.

Yunchang Zhu keeps in mind the motto of “the kindest person has a character like water”, not only won a number of disciplines competition awards, but also provided service for children of medical staff during the COVID-19, and support education in poverty-stricken areas.

Ziqi Zhou actively served the people in volunteer work, and served as Deputy Secretary of the School Students Youth League Committee, served the youth wholeheartedly, and be a firm believer, a powerful communicator and a loyal practitioner.

Shanyi Zhu, as the head of the Communist Youth League Committee and the branch secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee, innovated the form of ideological and political study, took the lead in carrying out 12 activities for Youth League members, and submitted articles on campus platform for many times to convey positive energy and love with words.

Yuyue Zhuang, member of Self-defined Drama Society, both acts as director and actor. He also shows talent in music with 15 original works. He has participated in the video recording of Wuhan University many times, and got great praise for his exquisite and humorous acting skills.

Yinuo Zhou devoted herself to study, and achieved excellent results in professional courses. She is also active in the Youth League Committee and students societies, and won many honors in research projects and essay competitions.

Yiqiang Li took an active part in various academic competitions and won awards while getting outstanding academic achievements. With his excellent scientific and cultural literacy and practical research ability, he worked as an intern in his favorite job, turning knowledge into core competitiveness.

Focusing on the major strategy of national rural revitalization, the Rural Jolly Meet Team aims to boost rural development with digital empowerment and model innovation. Relying on the two core businesses of cultural tourism and e-commerce, the team uses big data, virtual and real navigation and other technologies to form an virtual and real collaboration and ecological closed loop of bringing people into and goods out of the village.

SIM Debate Team was a highlight of this selection. With keen thinking, meticulous logic and profound insights, the team members have achieved fruitful results in related events inside and outside Wuhan University.
